About Me

Hi, I'm Kyra, a journalist and copywriter based between southwest London and Bristol, UK.

I'm passionate about community storytelling, arts, and digital culture.

Having trained in a newsroom during my Media Production (Journalism) BA at UWE, I have experience producing industry-standard multimedia content across web, social media, radio and TV platforms.

As a copywriter, I can seamlessly blend brand voice with up-to-date marketing techniques to communicate value and engage a target audience.

Some of my skills include:

🗹 Efficient Communication

🗹  Strong attention to detail

🗹  Project management

🗹  Strategic organisation

"We were lucky enough to have Kyra join us as volunteer film coordinator last year. Kyra was extremely organised and diligent and we are immensely grateful for her research and coordination, resulting in a curated collection of films we can screen at Sparks."

Lucy Willoughby, Sparks Volunteer Coordinator

Currently:

I am the Senior Lifestyle Editor for UWE's student HUB Magazine. I write, edit and publish content for the section, commission articles via social media, and coordinate our junior editors.

I am working as a Freelance Copywriter and developing my portfolio of clients. Right now I'm writing for UWE's Digital Learning Service.

Previously:

I was a Film Screening Coordinator for Sparks Bristol. I sourced and curated programmes of films for adults and children, promoting the UN 17 Sustainable Development Goals.

I produced a 30 minute TV broadcast with a live studio audience for Bower News - UWE's in-house journalism channel.
